In need of some perfect waves and bikini surfing? Our Bali surfari is the ultimate tropical adventure, 10 days of surfing and Yoga on the paradise islands of Bali and Nusa Lembongan.

Each day our Surf Sistas team will help you to get the most out of your surf time. Whether you are a complete beginner looking to learn in tropical waters, have some experience and want to gain confidence surfing reef waves, or are looking to explore Bali with some like minded surf girls.. then we think you will love this Surf Sistas trip!

SURFING BALI

Bingin on Bali's Bukit Peninsula
Bali is known as the island of the gods for good reason. Each coast is blessed with perfect reef and beach set-ups. We keep our daily itinerary flexible to enable us to make the most of the tides and varying swell and wind forecasts. It is likely we will surf most in the morning and evening when the wind is lightest and the sun is less strong.

For the first 6 nights of the trip we are based in Canggu on Bali. From here we can access many different breaks and make sure that you are surfing the right breaks for your ability and the conditions every day.

SURFING NUSA LEMBONGAN

The island of Nusa Lembongan is 20km off the East coast of Bali, just 30 minutes boat ride away. This small island with a population of less than 4000 people boasts stunning uncrowded waves and crystal clear waters, perfect for snorkelling, jet skiing, fishing and of course incredible for surfing. It’s a dream location.

For our 4 days on Nusa Lembongan we will be accessing the breaks right in front of our accommodation by water taxi. When we are not surfing there is plenty of time to lap up the laid back tropical island life with Yoga, snorkeling, spa treatments, cycle rides or just relaxing by the pool.

YOGA

Yoga on the deck in Nusa L
Daily Yoga sessions are organised around our surf schedule.

We will practice asanas that will enhance your surfing, improve your balance and flexibility and stretch out tight muscles. The classes will be suitable for all levels.

Mats are provided you just need to bring yourself and wear comfortable clothing.

ACCOMMODATION

tropical home in Canggu
Our accommodation for the first 6 nights is in Canggu, a 35 minute drive north from the airport on the west coast of Bali. Our boutique hotel with a pool is just 250 metres from the beach.   Rooms are ensuite twin shares with a few private rooms available for a single supplement.

Here we are in walking distance of the lively beachside bars and restaurants of Echobeach, we are also just a short ride away from the famous sunset cocktail bar of Ku de Ta and Surf Sistas favourite restaurant in Bali, Sea Circus. We are close to the upmarket district of Seminyak and the tourist hub of Kuta for all your shopping needs.

unloading on the island
On day 7 we will take to the sea and make the 30 minute transfer by boat to Nusa Lembongan where our accommodation for 3 nights is beachside with a pool overlooking the surf.

When you are not surfing why not rent a moped and explore the island, take a snorkeling trip or just soak up tranquil island life.
EATING AND DRINKING

Breakfast is included every day. Lunches are not included but each surf spot has its own Warung (restaurant), where we can sit down to a delicious feast for a few dollars per day.
yum!

Evening meals are included on the first and last evening. Other evenings we will choose local restaurants that we love for the group to eat together or you have the option to go out and explore yourselves.

There are so many amazing places to eat on Bali and the Surf Sistas crew have selflessly sampled many of them so that we can pass on our top tips to you!

SURFBOARD RENTAL & WHAT TO WEAR

paddling out at playgrounds, remember sun block!
Boards are available for hire if you don't bring your own. If you are a beginner or not sure what you need then our instructors are on hand to select the right board for you.

The water is tropical so you need board shorts, swimsuits/bikinis, rash vests (lycras) to protect from the sun and rub from your board, maybe surf leggings if you are fair skinned (sunburn will really spoil your trip!).  We also recommend that you wear reef shoes when you are surfing. We can advise on where to purchase these.

Flights
The trip includes arrival and departure meetings to/from Denpasar airport. You will need to book your own flights however we can advise you on flights that others are taking, the latest deals that we have discovered recommend booking agents.

Please check your baggage, size, number and weight allowance with your airline. Remember to check your airline's procedure for carrying surfboards and book yours in advance if you are bringing one.

Currency:
It is difficult to obtain Indonesian Rupiah outside the country. We recommend taking a debit or credit card and using cash points. Our accommodations have safety boxes for passports and cash. You will not need much cash as the trip covers most eventualities, just money for souvenirs, alcohol and lunches and evening meals.

You can exchange sterling cash or traveller’s cheques with Balinese money-changers. We recommend taking at least 2 bank cards in case one becomes lost or damaged.

Documents:
ding repair easy in Bali
It is essential that your passport has over 6 months left until it expires (from the date you return to the UK), preferably much longer, or you will be denied entry to Indonesia. A tourist visa must be purchased on entry to the country for $25. This is valid for 30 days from entry.

If you plan to hire a car or motorcycle you will need an international driving license, which can be obtained from the AA.

It is a good idea to carry photocopies of your important documents (packed separately) and note that it is also easier to carry photocopies of relevant pages from heavy guidebooks etc. We also suggest that you scan copies of your important documents and email them to yourself.

Packing:
Our brainstorm of packing essentials to get you started..
  • A couple of well fitting board shorts/bikini/swimming costume
  • Rash vests (long and/OR short sleeved
  • Surfboard (suggest wrap in bubble wrap, use pipe cladding to protect rails, wrap towels around for added protection, for boards that don’t have fixed fins, remove them, write fragile and topload on bag)
  • Shortie wetsuit (optional but protects from sun and rub)
  • Beach towel
  • Warm water wax
  • Travellers cheques/ credit debit card
  • Travel itinerary
  • Flight tickets
  • Any medication required
  • Our contact numbers
  • Travel insurance document
  • Passport! (WITH A MINIMUM OF 6 MONTHS UNTIL IT EXPIRES)
  • Sun Cream (high factor or block)
  • Insect repellant
  • Toiletries (inc Vaseline for wetsuit/board/boardies rub) and talcum powder. Place liquids in a separate sealed carrier in case of leakage.
  • blue tac/ear plugs if required.
  • Bottle to carry water
  • Sun hat
  • flip flops

Medical
Please inform us of any medical complaints/conditions prior to the trip. We will carry a first aid kit at all times but we advise that you also bring your own containing: scissors, bandages, plasters, antiseptic, sting cream, burn cream, steri-strips, Betadine, pain killers, rehydration sachets.

There is no Malaria on Bali but plenty of mosquitos at dusk. Use Mosquito coils in your room and the local repellant.
The radical change in temperature and diet affects people differently. Maintain a good water intake and a healthy diet. Carry immodium or similar in your medical kit alongside your rehydration sachets.

Travel Insurance
It is essential that you take out a comprehensive personal travel insurance policy. Please check with your insurer that you are covered to surf each day.
